Giving voice

I do not only seek to consult vulnerable people: I help them design the tool that listens to them, in their own forms of expression, at their own pace and with their consent.

What I hold to, everywhere

The first three principles are those of the Burkina Faso project, the best documented; the other fields adopt them in their own form.

  • Say who decides what

Before starting, the young people know what they decide themselves and what remains decided by others. Trust comes from that clarity.

  • A consent that can be withdrawn

Each young person and their parents signed a consent, revocable at any time and with no effect on the help received.

  • Recognise people as authors

The toolkit published by Terre des hommes recognises the children as co-authors.

  • Let people choose the form

Playing, walking, acting a scene, drawing, writing: each field opens the form that suits the people.

  • Share in open access

What is created together stays available to others: free games, open notebooks, published guides.
