Work with me
Five ways to work together, from organisations to individuals. Each starts with a 20-minute call, with no commitment.
The same difficulties, in companies and institutions alike
A company, a hospital, an NGO or a public administration often run into the same obstacles.
Transformation projects that fail
According to the studies gathered by René Rupert, 65 to 80% of company projects fail; according to a Booz & Company survey cited by Curt Blattner, two out of three transformation programmes fall short of their objectives. Structures and tools change, rarely the way people cooperate.
People concerned consulted too late
Patients, aid recipients, children or field teams receive a solution designed without them. It serves them poorly, and their knowledge goes unused.
Teams that compete instead of cooperating
Each department seeks recognition from authority; decisions move up and get stuck.
Exhausted people
Crises follow one another, fatigue sets in, and there is no energy left to change.
These difficulties share a common source: the quality of relationships, between peers and with authority. That is where I work, together with the people concerned.
For organisations and networks
Co-creating with the people concerned
I design and facilitate processes in which the people concerned, teams and decision-makers build a response together: a consultation, a project, a policy or a tool.
Book a 20-minute call- Who it is for
- Humanitarian organisations, hospitals, foundations, public institutions, networks, associations and companies that want to involve their audiences or their teams.
- Typical situations
- Consulting aid recipients, patients or children, and being accountable to them
- Citizen assembly or deliberative democracy process
- Conferences, game jams, hackathons or festivals over several days
- A crisis that requires mobilising many people quickly
- Approach
- I apply the four-step method from my thesis: listen to each other, agree on priorities, pool resources, create the essentials. Each process has its own ethics and safeguarding protocol, written before it starts.
- How it works
- A 20-minute call with the person who carries the request
- Co-design with a small representative group, including an ethics protocol
- The event, from a few hours to several days, on site or online
- Sharing results, with resources published under free licences, and follow-up of the projects that emerge
- Indicative duration
- 1 to 3 months of preparation for a 1- to 3-day event.
For leadership teams
Team support
I help teams facing complex situations regain their capacity to act: clarify the problem, surface useful disagreements, decide and experiment together.
Book a 20-minute call- Who it is for
- Leadership teams, boards and committees, project teams.
- Typical situations
- A transformation project that is stalling
- Difficult cooperation between professions or departments
- Tension between the team and authority
- Collective decisions that are stuck
- Approach
- I draw on emerging change, described in the book Les clés du dialogue hiérarchique, and on René Rupert's management compass: small changes in professional meetings improve relationships between peers and with authority, as well as collective performance.
- How it works
- A 20-minute call with the person who carries the request
- A team diagnosis, through interviews and observation
- Workshops to decide and experiment
- A review and guidelines to carry on without me
- Indicative duration
- Diagnosis in 1 to 2 days; support over 2 to 6 months.
For training
Designing playful and immersive learning
I design training, games and immersive experiences where people learn by doing, from 20 minutes to 7 days, on site or online.
Book a 20-minute call- Who it is for
- Training managers, trainers, subject-matter experts, universities, hospitals and organisations that train their teams or their audiences.
- Typical situations
- Training that does not change practice
- Complex content to bring to life
- A serious game or a game jam to design
- An online course or a blended programme
- Approach
- I start from what people already know, then get them to play, create and debate. As a federally certified adult trainer with a graduate degree in game design, I design, facilitate and evaluate; day-to-day follow-up stays within your organisation.
- How it works
- A 20-minute call about your goals and audiences
- Design with a few people from the target audience
- A prototype tested, then adjusted
- Facilitating or handing over the format, with a review of its effects
- Indicative duration
- Training from 20 minutes to 7 days; design from 2 to 10 days.
For hospitals, foundations and institutions
Participatory research and evaluation
I conduct research and evaluations with the people concerned: understanding a situation, measuring a project's effects, publishing usable results.
Book a 20-minute call- Who it is for
- Hospitals, foundations, humanitarian organisations, universities and public institutions.
- Typical situations
- Evaluating a programme or a participatory process
- Designing a study with patients or aid recipients
- Documenting an approach in order to publish it
- Preparing a research funding application
- Approach
- Co-design with the people concerned, mixed methods (interviews, observation, measurements) and open dissemination. I have been principal investigator for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Fédération hospitalière de France, and contributed to five clinical studies.
- How it works
- A 20-minute call about your question
- A protocol built with you, including ethics and data protection
- Data collection and analysis, with milestones
- A clear report, and an open-access publication if you wish
- Indicative duration
- From a few weeks to several months, depending on the question.
For individuals
Individual support
You have an important decision to make, a complex situation to unblock, exhaustion to get through or a crisis to face. I help you clarify what matters, try out options and take action.
Book a 20-minute call- Who it is for
- Managers, executives and project leaders facing tension, exhaustion or crisis.
- Typical situations
- Taking up a new position or role
- An important decision to make
- Exhaustion, or fear of burning out
- A professional crisis, or a difficult relationship with management or the team
- Approach
- I start from your resources and your reading of the situation. We connect what you experience to the dynamics of your organisation, then you test concrete options between sessions. I do not offer therapy: if medical or psychological support would help, I refer you.
- How it works
- A 20-minute call to check that my approach suits you
- A session to clarify the situation and your goals
- Spaced sessions to experiment and adjust
- A review of what has changed and of the next steps
- Indicative duration
- 3 to 6 sessions of 90 minutes over two to three months. In person in Geneva or Lausanne, or remotely.
Two formats
One-off intervention
A diagnosis, a workshop, facilitating a day or giving a talk.
Longer-term support
Several stages over a few months, with regular reviews.
Fees and commons
The methods I develop are published under free licences. Assignments are paid according to a differentiated scale, for three kinds of clients.
| Service | Institutions and companies | Associations | Citizen collectives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual support, per hour | 200–260 | 140–160 | 80–120 depending on income |
| Training, per classroom hour, preparation included | 180–300 | 120–150 | 60–100 |
| Day of design, preparation or research | 1,600–1,800 | 1,000–1,100 | 400–600 |
| Day of leadership team support | 1,800–2,200 | 1,000–1,300 | 400–700 |
| Day of large-group facilitation | 2,000–2,400 | 1,200–1,400 | 500–800 |
- The lower end applies to public institutions and hospitals, the upper end to private companies.
- For international organisations, I price by deliverable.
- Each quote includes preparation and follow-up days, not only the days on site. For citizen collectives, funding from a foundation is often possible: we can look for it together.
I also give priority to projects that can produce freely shareable resources, where it makes sense.
- Working languages
- French and English; working knowledge of German and Italian.
- Locations
- Geneva, Lausanne and French-speaking Switzerland, remotely, and internationally.
